Truth from the Word

Love for Others

So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the Devil. Anyone who does not obey God’s commands and does not love other Christians (in the Greek translation says does not love his brother) does not belong to God.
I John 3:10 NLT

And may the Lord make your love grow and overflow to each other and to everyone else, just as our love overflows toward you. (The Apostle Paul’s writing to the church/community at Thessalonica)
As a result, Christ will make your hearts strong, blameless and holy when you stand before God our Father on that day when our Lord Jesus comes with all those who belong to him.
I Thessalonians 3:12-13 NLT

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives (when we live God’s way), he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love (affection for others), joy (exuberance), peace (serenity), patience (a willingness to stick with things), kindness (a sense of compassion in the heart), goodness (a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things & people), faithfulness (loyal commitments), gentleness (not needing to force our way in life) and self-control (able to marshal & direct our energies wisely). Here this is no conflict with the law (legalism is helpless in bringing this about, and only gets in the way).
Galatians 5:22-23 NLT & MSG combined

Love your enemies! Do good to them! Lend to them! And don’t be concerned that they might not repay. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to the unthankful and to those who are wicked. You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.
Luke 6:35-36 NLT
