As I was worrying about different things going on in our world, nation, my city and in my personal life, I was reminded by the Holy Spirit to go to the Word.
I was led to Isaiah 40 and the title of the passage is Comfort for God’s People.
Hopefully this listing of who God is will bring much comfort to you, as you navigate whatever season you’re in, your struggle or your worry.
- Everything fades away and dies, but the Word of God stands forever
- He rules with awesome strength
- He brings His reward as He comes
- He will feed His flock
- He will carry the lambs in his arms, close to his heart.
- He will lead the momma and her sheep, like a Good Shepherd
- He holds the oceans in his hands
- He measures the heavens with his fingers
- He knows the weight of the Earth, hills and mountains
- He advises the Spirit of the Lord and he’s his teacher and counselor
- He doesn’t need anyone’s advice
- There’s no sacrifice large enough to honor him
- Nothing compares to him
- He spreads out the heavens like curtains
- He created all the stars and knows them by name
Israel, he speaks to his people in this land – How can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? I believe He wants you to know this today. And me.
- I am your Everlasting God
- I created of all the Earth
- I never grow weary or faint
- You can’t measure the depths of my understanding
- I give power to you, when you are tired and worn out
- I offer strength to you, when you are weak
- If you wait upon me, you will find NEW strength
- You will fly high on wings like eagles
- You will run and not grow weary
- You will walk and not faint
I hope you find comfort, like I did, in reading this passage with a personal lens. Writing out Isaiah 40 as if He was speaking directly to me was encouraging. I am His child. He wants you to know the same – he is this for you, right now.
He can handle your problem. He can lead you through your storm. He will give you NEW strength for today. He can, if you let him.
