In reading this morning I asked The Lord to highlight things in scripture and to keep my mind from wandering. I started in my one year bible and needed to catch up a few days back. I’m starting in Psalm 116.
Here are the highlights:
The Lord hears my voice and my prayers!
The Lord protects those of childlike faith
In verses 10&11 they are such honest cries to The Lord – I need to cry out like that everyday because He hears.
Verse 12- what can I offer The Lord for all He has done for me??
13&14: I will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the Lords name for saving me. I will keep my promises to The Lord in the presence of all his people.
16: O Lord I am your servant; yes I am your servant born into your household; you have frees me from my chains!
18: I will fulfill my vows to The Lord in the presence of all his people
That’s the response to him for all he has done for us. To keep his truths and promises and commands in front of His people. To live a life set apart in front of the world. He’s freed us from our chains – the bondage of debt, immorality, laziness, etc… He has set us free so we are to be his servants – we owe him our lives—full of joy, fulfilled by his promises— lived out loud!
Thank you God for your Holy Spirit teaching guiding and resting on your word – help me to follow your commands and keep promises and vows to you in front of the people I work with, live around and minister to.
